JaeVee is a vibrant proptech property developer based in Norwich that joint ventures with experienced main contractors on various property development schemes throughout the UK.

JaeVee is undertaking an ambitious expansion with its recent change in model to acquire sites primed for residential development to joint venture with main contractors. The initial phase is to concentrate on our local region, East Anglia. Thereafter the next phase is to develop sites throughout the UK.

For our development sites based in East Anglia, we will be constructing these sites in-house via the construction company we've recently acquired therefore creating the key role of Quantity Surveyor with an opportunity to progress to Commercial Manager.

To date, the group has completed contracts ranging from £750k up to £7m with the pipeline evolving as the group continues on its impressive growth trajectory. The projects mainly consist of residential schemes such as ground up developments and conversions though we're now diversifying into industrial estates. Something we consider to be pandemic proof with the supply chain one of the industries to profiteer most.

We’re looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team to undertake the associated quantity surveying work for all our current and future JCT D&B sub contracts with subcontractors. The role is based in our office in Norwich, Norfolk working closely with our Contracts and Project Management teams. You will be expected to conduct regular site visits for finalising sub contractor valuations and applications via payment or payless notices. The role will also benefit from working with an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor undertaking check measures on your behalf when determining subcontractor applications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review bills of quantities prepared by 3rd estimators
  • Prepare tender and contract documents for take offs
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control
  • Regular review of supply chain lead times
  • Procure ahead of lead times to ensure programmes are ahead of schedule
  • Review subcontractor tenders with rate checks for materials, labour and plant
  • Issue orders to subcontractors using the company order templates
  • Review and value subcontractor valuation applications
  • Submit subcontractor valuation applications for approval to quality audit department
  • Maintain subcontractor payment application, payment notice and payless notice trackers
  • Agreement and certification of sub-contractor final accounts
  • Maintain and develop sub-contractor preferred database
  • Coordinate with Materials Buyer for material procurement
  • Coordinate with Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to undertaking check measures for subcontractor valuation applications
  • Coordinate with Contracts Manager for value engineering and programme guidance

Qualifications/Experience

The chosen one should possess:

  • 3 years minimum experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience in Residential Construction
  • Knowledge of RIBA Stages 3-6

This position is a full-time role based in our Norwich office with working hours 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
